Bluedot Alternatives: Two Bot-Free Recorders With Very Different Jobs

Bluedot’s homepage makes a claim almost nobody else in this category can: it “never invites a bot to your meeting or asks for calendar access.” No bot, no calendar scope, capture handled by the Chrome extension or the desktop app. Craqly makes the same no-bot promise from a native desktop app, so the interesting question isn’t which one avoids the participant list. It’s what each does with the audio once it has it.

What Bluedot is

Bluedot is a recorder and note-taker that runs almost everywhere. Chrome extension, Mac and Windows desktop apps, iOS and Android, plus an Apple Watch app. It covers Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles, phone calls and in-person conversations, transcribes in 100+ languages, and has a built-in AI chat that queries across your meeting history.

The integration list is the strongest argument for it. Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Copper on the CRM side. Greenhouse and Workday on the ATS side, which is unusual and matters if you’re a recruiter. Notion, Slack, Google Drive and Calendar. Zapier and Make for anything else. Bluedot’s paid tiers also expose webhooks and MCP integration, with org-wide MCP and webhooks on the Business plan.

On the compliance side Bluedot states it is SOC 2 certified and GDPR compliant, and that customer data is never used to train or improve AI models. Craqly has no equivalent certification to point at. If procurement is going to ask, that’s a real gap and I’d rather say it here than bury it.

What’s the actual difference between Bluedot and Craqly?

Bluedot records the conversation and writes it up afterwards. Craqly reads the conversation as it happens and puts suggestions on your screen while you’re still in it. Both capture locally with no bot in the participant list, so the split isn’t architectural. It’s about whether you want a record of the call or help getting through it.

Craqly runs five session modes: interview, sales, pitch, meeting-notes and recruiting. Only meeting-notes overlaps with what Bluedot does. The other four are live, and they’re the reason the product exists. During a discovery call, Craqly can surface a follow-up question while the buyer is still talking. During an investor pitch, it can put your own traction numbers back in front of you. A recorder cannot do this, no matter how good the summary is afterwards.

The second difference is the window itself. Craqly’s overlay is excluded from screen shares and screen recordings, and that’s on every plan including the free Starter tier. Bluedot has no stealth feature because it doesn’t need one, since there’s nothing to read on screen mid-call. Under the hood both rely on the same OS capture surfaces, ScreenCaptureKit on macOS and the Electron desktopCapturer layer for the app shell.

Bluedot’s published tiers on monthly billing are Free at $0, Basic at $18/user/month, Pro at $25/user/month and Business at $39/user/month. Annual billing drops those to $14, $20 and $32 per user per month. The free tier is capped at 5 meetings for the lifetime of the account with a 1 hour maximum per recording, which is a trial in practice rather than a plan you live on. Basic is audio only with unlimited meetings and unlimited storage, still capped at 1 hour per recording. Pro removes the duration cap and adds video, custom note templates, and Zoom and Google Drive imports. Business adds the CRM and ATS integrations, SSO and SCIM, custom data retention and org-wide MCP and webhooks. An Enterprise flat rate is available on request.

Craqly: Starter $0 with 20 credits, Pro $19/month with 180 credits, Pro Max $39/month with 420 credits, Ultra $69/month with 780 credits, and yearly billing saves 20%. One credit is one minute of live session. All five modes and stealth are on every tier, free included.

Read those two lists side by side and the trade is clear. Bluedot’s free tier is more generous per session (a full hour) but runs out after 5 meetings forever. Craqly’s free tier is stingier per month (20 minutes) but it refills every month and includes stealth and all five modes. And note that Bluedot’s CRM and ATS connectors sit behind the $39 Business tier, so a recruiter who wants Greenhouse sync is comparing $39/user/month against a Craqly tier that has no Greenhouse sync at all. That comparison does not go Craqly’s way.

Who should pick Bluedot

Pick Bluedot if you need the record more than the coaching. Recruiters who want interview notes in Greenhouse or Workday, sales teams pushing call summaries into HubSpot or Pipedrive, anyone who takes half their meetings on a phone or in a room, anyone who needs video playback, and any organization that will run a security review before approving a tool. On all of those Bluedot is the better answer and Craqly isn’t competitive.

Pick Craqly if the pressure is live. Candidate-side interview prep, founders pitching, sellers on first calls, recruiters running screens where the next question matters more than the transcript. Craqly is also the cheaper entry point for a single person who does 3 hours of important calls a month rather than 30 hours of everything. Our AI meeting notes guide covers what a good post-call summary should contain, and discovery call tips is the more useful read if you’re evaluating live assistance for sales.

A test that separates them in about 4 minutes

Run one real call with each and ask a single question afterwards: did the tool change anything about how the call went, or only about what you remember from it? Bluedot will win on the second question every time. Its transcript will be searchable in 100+ languages, the action items will be sitting in Notion, and if you’re on Pro you’ll have the video. Craqly should win on the first, or it isn’t earning its place. If you finish a Craqly session and nothing on screen changed a single thing you said, the live modes aren’t doing their job for your kind of call, and you should buy the recorder instead. I think that’s a fair test and I’d rather you run it than take my word for any of this.

One caution that applies to both

Neither tool tells the other participants anything. That’s the point of local capture, and it means the disclosure obligation sits with you. Recording law varies by country and by US state, several states require consent from everyone on the call, and no capture architecture changes that. Announce it. For interviews specifically, most employers prohibit undisclosed AI assistance and some ask candidates to confirm they aren’t using it, so interview mode belongs in preparation and practice rather than in an assessment you agreed to take on your own.

What about the full job search pipeline?

If you are reading this comparison, you are probably either preparing for interviews or actively in a loop. Craqly helps you during the live conversation. It does not help you get the interview in the first place.

That gap is what LastRoundAI covers, and it is worth naming because it is our sister product and because it genuinely fills a hole Craqly leaves open. LastRoundAI builds your resume and scores it for ATS parsing, searches live job boards from Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby, auto-applies with tailored resumes and cover letters (you approve every one), runs voice mock interviews with feedback, and gives you a live copilot for the calls that come out of it. The whole pipeline from “I need a job” to “I am in the room” lives on one account.

Plenty of people use both: LastRoundAI to get the interview, Craqly in the room for everything after it. The free plans on both sides are enough to decide whether the handoffs work for your search.

If the hard part is the call itself, a transcript arrives too late. Craqly runs natively on macOS and Windows, captures system audio without joining the meeting, and gives live in-session help across interview, sales, pitch, meeting-notes and recruiting modes. Stealth mode is on the free Starter plan.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bluedot use a meeting bot?

No. Bluedot states on its own site that it never invites a bot to your meeting and never asks for calendar access. Capture runs through the Chrome extension, the Mac and Windows desktop apps, or the mobile and Apple Watch apps, so nothing extra appears in the participant list.

How much does Bluedot cost?

Checked 22 July 2026 on bluedothq.com/pricing: Free is $0 with 5 lifetime meetings, Basic is $18/user/month, Pro is $25/user/month and Business is $39/user/month. Annual billing lowers those to $14, $20 and $32 per user per month. Enterprise is a flat rate on request.

Which Bluedot alternative helps during the meeting?

Craqly. It captures system audio from a native macOS or Windows app, never joins as a participant, and displays live suggestions during interview, sales, pitch and recruiting sessions. Its window is excluded from screen shares on every plan. It has no CRM or ATS integrations, unlike Bluedot.

Does Craqly integrate with Greenhouse, HubSpot or Salesforce?

No. Craqly has minimal integrations and does not sync notes to CRMs or applicant tracking systems. If your workflow depends on call summaries landing automatically in Greenhouse, Workday, HubSpot or Salesforce, Bluedot’s Business tier handles that directly and is the better purchase for that requirement.

Is Bluedot’s free plan enough to evaluate it properly?

It’s tight. The free tier allows 5 meetings for the lifetime of the account with a 1 hour cap per recording, so it functions more like a trial than an ongoing plan. Craqly’s free Starter tier gives 20 credits that reset every month, which suits occasional use better.
