Clari Copilot Alternatives: Live Battlecards Without the Platform Contract

Clari announced the acquisition of Wingman on 15 June 2022, and what was Wingman is now Clari Copilot. That lineage matters, because Wingman was one of the few conversation intelligence tools that did something during the call rather than after it, and Copilot kept that. Its real-time battlecards fire on trigger phrases: say “too expensive” or “budget” and the pricing card appears on screen mid sentence.

Which makes Clari Copilot the closest thing in the revenue tooling world to what Craqly does. It’s also sold completely differently, and that difference is the whole decision.

How Clari Copilot’s real-time layer works

Clari’s own explainer is unusually clear about the mechanism. Battlecards are described as cheat sheets where “Clari Copilot populates relevant information on screen, in real time, when certain trigger phrases are spoken by buyers.” A pricing card is wired to phrases like “too expensive,” “cost,” “budget” or “ROI.” Someone configures those cards and those triggers in advance, usually enablement or a sales manager, and every rep gets the same card on the same phrase.

Clari also publishes a number on it: sellers using real-time battlecards see 10 percent more wins on average than those who don’t. That’s Clari’s own data drawn from Clari Copilot call records, published under their Clari Labs banner, so treat it as vendor-reported rather than independent. I’d still take it seriously. A card that shows up at the exact moment a competitor is named is a good idea regardless of who measured it.

Around that live layer sits the rest of Copilot: real-time transcription, automatic summaries and action items, Playbooks and Gametapes for onboarding, capture of intent and objections into CRM, and feeds into Clari’s broader revenue platform. There’s a public Copilot API if you want to pull that data elsewhere.

Is Craqly a Clari Copilot alternative?

For the in-call layer, yes, genuinely. Craqly is a native desktop app that reads live call audio locally and puts suggestions on your screen while you talk. For everything else Clari sells, no. There’s no CRM capture, no team call library, no Gametapes, no forecasting and no manager analytics in Craqly, and Clari Copilot is the front end to a full revenue platform.

The interesting difference sits inside the live layer itself. Battlecards are pre-authored and rule-triggered. Somebody wrote the pricing card, somebody listed the trigger phrases, and the card that appears is the card that was written. Craqly’s sales mode generates the suggestion from the actual conversation, with four sub modes (discovery, demo, negotiation, closing) that change what the model is watching for. In negotiation it tracks concession language. In discovery it flags qualification you skipped.

Both approaches have a failure mode. Rule-triggered cards are predictable and on-message, and useless when the objection is one nobody wrote a card for. Generated suggestions cover the long tail and will occasionally hand you something slightly off. If your team has strong messaging discipline and a VP who wants every rep saying the same thing about the same competitor, Clari’s model is the safer one. That’s an honest point in their favour.

What it costs, and what nobody will tell you

Clari does not publish prices. Their pricing page says the platform is “priced to run revenue, not hurt the bottom line” and then gives you a “Get a quote” button. Copilot is quoted the same way. Expect an annual per-seat contract with a minimum, because that’s how platforms in this tier are sold, but I’m not going to invent the number and you shouldn’t trust anyone who does.

Craqly publishes everything. One credit equals one minute of live session and credits reset monthly. Starter is $0 with 20 credits, all five session modes and stealth mode. Pro is $19 a month for 180 credits (three hours) with session history, analytics and a project workspace. Pro Max is $39 for 420 credits, about seven hours, adding custom AI personas and instructions, extended responses and multiple workspaces. Ultra is $69 for 780 credits. Yearly saves 20 percent. Card on file, no call with anybody.

The bot and the roster

Clari’s product pages describe real-time transcription and call capture without spelling out the mechanism, so I can’t tell you from their documentation whether a bot joins or a platform recording API is used. That’s a real gap in what I could verify. What is documented elsewhere is that the meeting platforms surface recording either way. Google’s Meet support documentation states that “participants get a notification when the recording starts or stops,” and Microsoft’s developer docs describe a meeting bot as a full multiparty call participant with roster presence.

Craqly avoids the question by not being in the meeting. It’s a desktop app that captures system audio through the operating system, on macOS via ScreenCaptureKit, and it never joins. No participant entry, no join sound, no recording notice caused by Craqly. Stealth mode keeps the window itself out of screen shares, and that’s on the free tier too, not gated behind a paid plan. Worth naming the tradeoff: one mixed audio stream gives weaker speaker separation than a bot pulling per-participant streams, so Clari will produce the cleaner multi-speaker transcript.

Who should pick Clari Copilot

Pick Clari Copilot if you already run Clari, or you’re evaluating a revenue platform anyway, because buying the conversation layer separately from the forecasting layer is how you end up with two tools that disagree. Pick it if you have enough reps that consistent messaging is a problem worth solving with authored battlecards. Pick it if a manager needs to review calls, build Gametapes from winning ones, and onboard new hires against them. Pick it if objections and next steps landing in CRM automatically is worth real money to you.

Pick Craqly if you’re an individual seller or a small team, you want live help without a procurement cycle, and you’d rather nothing appeared in the participant list. Also pick Craqly if your live-assist need spans more than sales calls, since the same app covers interview, pitch, meeting notes and recruiting modes. On interviews specifically, one caveat worth stating: most employers prohibit undisclosed AI assistance during hiring interviews, so check the rules before you rely on it. We go into that in our piece on using an AI interview assistant across Zoom, Meet and Teams.

For the broader map of this category, our AI sales assistant guide covers where live copilots and conversation intelligence platforms overlap, and the discovery call playbook is the practical version of what the sales sub modes are built around.

What about the full job search pipeline?

If you are reading this comparison, you are probably either preparing for interviews or actively in a loop. Craqly helps you during the live conversation. It does not help you get the interview in the first place.

That gap is what LastRoundAI covers, and it is worth naming because it is our sister product and because it genuinely fills a hole Craqly leaves open. LastRoundAI builds your resume and scores it for ATS parsing, searches live job boards from Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby, auto-applies with tailored resumes and cover letters (you approve every one), runs voice mock interviews with feedback, and gives you a live copilot for the calls that come out of it. The whole pipeline from “I need a job” to “I am in the room” lives on one account.

Plenty of people use both: LastRoundAI to get the interview, Craqly in the room for everything after it. The free plans on both sides are enough to decide whether the handoffs work for your search.

Want battlecard-style help without a platform contract? Craqly runs on your Mac or PC, reads call audio locally, never joins the meeting, and suggests language while you’re still talking. Free tier includes 20 credits and stealth mode.

Common questions

Is Clari Copilot the same as Wingman?

Yes. Clari announced the acquisition of Wingman on 15 June 2022 and the product was folded into Clari’s revenue platform as Clari Copilot. The real-time battlecard capability that Wingman was known for carried across and is still one of its distinguishing features.

How much does Clari Copilot cost?

Clari does not publish pricing for Copilot or for the wider platform. The pricing page routes you to a quote request. Any figure you find on a review site is secondhand, so get the number from Clari directly and confirm seat minimums and contract length in writing.

How do Craqly’s live suggestions differ from battlecards?

Battlecards are pre-written cards wired to trigger phrases, so guidance is consistent but limited to objections someone anticipated. Craqly generates suggestions from the live conversation using sales sub modes for discovery, demo, negotiation and closing, which covers unusual objections but is less predictable.

Does Craqly sync anything to my CRM?

No. Craqly has no CRM integration. Paid plans keep session history and analytics inside the app so you can review a call afterwards, but capturing objections, contacts and next steps into Salesforce is a job for Clari Copilot or a similar platform.

Will Craqly appear in the meeting participant list?

No. Craqly is a native macOS and Windows app that captures system audio locally and never joins the call, so no participant or recording notice comes from it. Stealth mode also excludes the window from screen capture on every plan, free included.
