    Desktop app setup

    Download, install and set up Craqly on Mac or Windows in a few minutes, then check it can hear your calls.

    Setup steps

    Download Craqly

    Go to craqly.com and click Download. The page offers the right build for your computer: Apple Silicon or Intel for Mac, or Windows.

    • macOS Apple Silicon (M1–M4): about 119 MB

    Install it

    On a Mac, open the downloaded file and drag Craqly onto Applications, then open it from Applications. On Windows, run the installer and follow the wizard.

    • Mac: the first time, macOS asks if you're sure you want to open an app from the internet. Click Open. The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple
    • Windows: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway
    • Run Craqly from Applications (Mac), not from inside the downloaded disk image

    Sign in

    Craqly opens with the sign-in screen. Sign in with Google, or with your email and password. No account yet? Choose Sign up on the same screen.

    • New accounts start on the free Starter plan with free credits
    • Your credits and session history follow your account, not the computer

    Tell Craqly what brings you here

    Pick what you'll use Craqly for: job interviews, sales calls, meeting notes, recruiting, fundraising or visa interview practice. Craqly sets your workspace up for it.

    Allow the microphone and screen recording

    Craqly asks for both on one screen. Each card shows Granted once it's allowed. On a Mac, Screen Recording is how macOS lets Craqly hear the other side of your call.

    • If a permission stays off, click Open Settings and turn Craqly on under Privacy & Security
    • macOS applies Screen Recording after Craqly restarts: quit and reopen it once
    • You can skip for now, but Craqly can't hear your calls until both are allowed

    Learn the four keys that matter

    The shortcuts step shows the keys a first session needs. They work from any app, so you never have to click Craqly during a call.

    • Cmd+B (Ctrl+B on Windows): hide or show Craqly instantly
    • Cmd+Shift+Space (Ctrl+Space on Windows): answer the question
    • Cmd+1 to 6 (Ctrl+1 to 6): run the quick actions, such as Explain and Go Deeper
    • Cmd+/ (Ctrl+/): the full shortcut list, while Craqly is focused

    Try the free demo

    Setup ends with a 60-second demo interview. A sample interviewer asks a question out loud and Craqly answers it, so you see a live session before you use a credit.

    • The demo uses no credits
    • Your speakers need to be on so Craqly can hear the sample interviewer

    Pick a mode and start

    You land on the home screen. Choose your mode in the top-left (Interview, Sales Call, Recruiting, Pitch or Meeting Notes), join your call, then click Start.

    • Join the meeting first, so there is audio playing when the session starts
    • Stealth is on by default: Craqly stays out of your screen share
    • Your credits are shown at the top; each session's cost appears under Recent sessions

    Craqly hears your call through your computer's sound, not your microphone.

    Run the free audio check

    Open Interview Setup → Audio check and click Test meeting audio while something plays on your computer (a YouTube video, or your meeting app's speaker test). It's free and uses no credits.

    • Keep your meeting playing on the same speakers or headphones you tested with

    If it says "We can't hear anything"

    The check tells you what to fix. Work down the list, then click Test again.

    • The sound must play on this computer (not on your phone) and the computer mustn't be muted
    • Mac: turn Craqly on under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then quit and reopen Craqly
    • Windows: update to the latest Craqly. Teams and Zoom audio is supported from 2.0.19
    • Unmute the other side of the call and turn your volume up

    Check the conversation language

    If words come out wrong during a session, open the menu in the toolbar (the three dots) and check that the conversation language matches the call.
